What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui translated means "wind and water." The earth has been transformed by wind and water patterns. The flow of these elements, literally and figuratively, is what the study of Feng Shui is all about. Feng Shui has been part of Chinese culture for thousands of years. It is a subcategory of Chinese medicine. The Chinese observed that there is a link between man and landscape. They found through observation that some surroundings are better, luckier and more "blessed" than others.How and where a house was situated was affected by the sun, winds and water accessibility and had a direct effect on the inhabitants. The more favorable conditions, the more content, harmonious and prosperous people were. When significant, auspicious and ideal space was unattainable, the search for antidotes led to the study of Feng Shui.
