I am unfolding my mind here. I can't but help examine its ways and functions, inquiring about its defaults and potential. It is ultimately amazing. Already, I am experiencing new ways of being that are making my life easier, more joyous. Every visit is a blessing! Thank you Dr. Larry.

Chronic and Persistent Cough

I have been coming to see Dr. Stern since the end of March, 2011 for a chronic cough that I’ve had since May 2009. My ENT Doc said that my Vagus Nerve was “attacked by a virus!” Until I began my visits with Dr. Stern did I realize how much “stress” and unsettled issues in my life were contributing to this ongoing condition.
My healing sessions with Dr. Stern have helped me to see my life in such a clear light. I chose, over the years, not to “speak up” and communicate to others what I was really feeling inside in order to keep the peace. Unfortunately, the price for me was way too high. Dr. Stern has shown me how to communicate in a calm, quiet, forthright way with my family and friends. When a confronting situation arises, I now begin to let my voice be heard. I feel like a weight has been lifted off my back. Just about every session, I leave feeling invigorated and ready to take on the world (whatever that might be).
Dr. Stern has given me a place where I can just be me with no judgments and say whatever comes to mind. It is truly a freeing and nurturing environment and wish everyone I know could come and see Dr. Stern. “He will definitely change your life!”

Fibromyalgia

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1989. When I walked into Dr. Larry’s office for the first time I had been living with fibromyalgia for seventeen years. For those of you who may not know, fibromyalgia is very real, unexplained pain in the muscles, tendons, and ligaments of the body. It feels like “tennis elbow” all over your body all the time, 24/7.

If a had a nickel for every doctor, specialist, physical therapy, prescription medicine, over the counter medicine, and other things I had attempted or taken I would probably be a very wealthy woman. I had not been able to work as the pain was too intense. I was living on Tylenol.

By this time I felt “at the end of my rope.” For the last five years, I had only been able to sleep in a lazy-boy style chair, as sleeping flat had become impossible. The minute I laid down in bed, my back would go into muscle spasms. At times it was so bad I’d have to lie on towels over a sand bag that had been boiled on the stove to relieve the pain along with more Tylenol…

My church sponsored a women’s retreat that I wanted to attend, and my dear husband Brad figured out a way to rig up a beach lounge chair so that I would be able to sleep in it.

God blessed me with my dear friend Lorraine, who was my roommate at the retreat. It was time to go to bed, and I started to get my lounge chair bed ready. Lorraine asked me what I was doing? So I told her. It had broken her heart to see me have to sleep like that. She told me later that she knew that Dr. Larry could, and would help me. She also knew that getting me to go to YET ANOTHER doctor was not going to be easy, because I had been promised many, many things by many doctors, and none had delivered.

With great trepidation, I went to Dr. Larry for the first time on November 1, 2006. He had put a plaque over his door that read,” Love, Peace, Hope, Joy.” Iimmediately felt comfortable. Dr. Larry is the only doctor that ever addressed MY WHOLE PERSON. The questionnaire that I filled out included the standard things like, “Why are you here today”?

But what struck me, was the fact that it asked me. “What losses have you suffered?” Among others.

Dr. Larry is an incredible, compassionate, gifted man who is uniquely used by God to heal. His work for me has been transforming.  I was not comfortable in my own skin, and I didn’t have inner peace. I was like a light bulb on a dimmer switch that was on, but barely. Almost “out” because the pain had taken over my life. I couldn’t sleep in bed, as I have mentioned, but I also couldn’t kneel, squat, sit on the floor, vacuum, sweep, or scrub anything. It would lead to intensified pain. I really didn’t want to live anymore. My life was more “I can’t”, than “I CAN!”

I have been sleeping in bed now for over 16 months! My pain has lessened, and I rarely take Tylenol anymore. I am able to kneel, squat, bend and stretch in ways I have not in YEARS! I have more energy, and my thinking is clearer. I LOVE Color, the brighter the better, especially RED. I feel as though flowers were invented for ME. They are SO beautiful. 

Another way I see Dr. Larry’s work on me is this: A little frog living in a deep well, is happy enough, settling for a few insects to eat and water to drink. One day he looks up and sees this patch of blue. He wonders what is that? He decides to climb up and have a look around. He sees a beautiful place that he didn’t REALIZE was there. It had been there the whole time, he was just not able to appreciate it before.

Thank you, Dr. Larry. You promised me that you would give me my life back, AND YOU HAVE!

I do not wake up with a dull pain in the small of my back anymore.

I’m not afraid to go through pain to get to recovery; I welcome it!

I am paying more attention to people when they speak: I ‘hear’ better.
I am feeling a lot sexier and a lot softer – especially my skin.
I have surrendered to being cared for through NSA & Dr. Stern.
I am simultaneously a sexy, beautiful woman and a happy playful child.
I have become alert about my own communications: I now stick to the facts and only the facts – without unconsciously embellishing on stories and events.
If I don’t know…I say, “I don’t know” and leave it at that!
I now realize that vacation means a trip to Bermuda – not a trip to Greenwich Hospital for spinal surgery.
Where once I was, I am no longer embarrassed about making noises, moaning and groaning and moving my body around in the process of my treatment. The more I let go the faster I heal.
I now realize that the powerful, all knowing body will heal itself – once the powerful, all knowing mind (with all it’s endless reasons why it can’t), gets the hell out of the way.
When Dr. Stern says: “You will have lots of FIRSTS” – he isn’t kidding. You will!

I love the person and the commitment Dr. Lawrence G. Stern is to my healing.

Filling up with 'Super Premium'

Dr. Larry,

I want to thank you for a great session today.

It really clicked for me today, that what you do for me, is you re-balance my energy. It's like going to the gas station and filling the tank with "SUPER PREMIUM"...

Most of the day we interact with people that unfortunately "drain" our energy, and in the book and movie Celestine Prophecy, the visual was so clear...we all know what that feels like. But YOU are the opposite, YOU are a GIVER.

I have a new and refreshed understanding and perspective of what you do and who you are. You are a stand for everyone that comes thru your door. You create a space for people to come, and for the first time in their day or week, they can simply receive.

Very happy to be back. Have a phenomenal week.

Asthma

I came to Stern Chiropractic with the intention of training my body to heal itself, instead of relying on forceful adjustments as I had in the past.  What I have actually accomplished has far exceeded any and all expectations that I had.  Under Dr. Larry's care, I have not only cared for my spine, but rid myself of the asthma that had plagued me since childhood and, most significantly, opened my heart to love and be loved.  There is absolutely no safer place in the world to be vulnerable and cared for.  Dr. Larry is not simply a skillful chiropractor, but an incredibly generous and loving human being.

Asthma

My daughter, Sophie, first showed signs of asthma at age 3. It started as a morning cough that lasted for a few weeks, then it turned into constant wheezing. Her doctors soon prescribed daily nebulizer treatments. Little did I know she'd be on the nebs every day for two months.

It was at that time that my friend told me of Dr. Larry's success in treating her daughter's asthma. I was a bit skeptical, but tired of medicating my daughter every day. I called Dr. Larry as soon as I got home. I remember his kind voice and eagerness to meet Sophie.

When I met Dr. Larry in person, I immediately felt comfortable. He is a warm, open person with a genuine desire to help. He quickly sensed that I, too, had been having trouble in the past year. Medically, I was dealing with multiple miscarriages due to a blood-clotting disorder. Emotionally, I was dealing with having seen the World Trade Center fall on 9/11. Sophie and I were a mess.

Soon after this meeting we began biweekly entrainments / adjustments with Dr. Larry. At first I found the treatments to be powerful and cathartic. At other times, they were electrifying. Later I found them relaxing. For Sophie, the treatments were quick and effective. She loved jumping onto the table to be entrained. She barely knew what Dr. Larry was doing, the touches are so light. But we both would walk out of the office feeling relaxed and refreshed.

After a month of treatments, I was pregnant again. With biweekly entrainments, I breezed through the early danger weeks and in the end had a healthy pregnancy. Dr. Larry continued to treat me throughout my pregnancy and I delivered a healthy baby boy last August. Everyone comments on how calm and content he is. I truly feel Dr. Larry contributed to his wonderful demeanor.

Within two months of treatment, Sophie's symptoms were gone and she was off meds completely. A year later, she is still asthma-free. Her immune system is so strong that she rarely gets sick, and when she does, she gets over it really quickly.

Dr. Larry continues to entrain me and my two children. I highly recommend him for the treatments of asthma and pregnancy problems, as well as those who would just like to strengthen their immune system and relieve stress. He is a gifted healer as well as a wonderful man, and I am indebted to him for my current happiness.

Scoliosis

NSA has had a bigger impact on my life than I ever could have imagined. When I first came to see Dr. Stern, I had a lot of emotion and tension built up from years of being an over-achiever. I always worried about the future and ended up missing out on alot because I was always too busy thinking about every possible outcome for a given situation instead of enjoying the present time. Since I started my Chiropractic Care , I have learned to shift my conscious mind over and let my heart do the thinking. I feel like a new person: both physically and emotionally.

I have scoliosis and used to find that I had a lot of tension and discomfort around the area where my spine curves. Dr. Larry helped me to unwind that tension and it hardly bothers me any more. I feel free, and best of all, I feel like I can live for NOW and calm down so that I don't miss out on all of the good things in my life. My experience with Dr. Stern and his staff has been life changing and I can't imagine a more calming office environment to do this type of work.

I can never thank you enough for the work you did with me all summer. I am such a different person, and I have never been happier.

Hey Dr. Larry,

First wanted to thank you for the warm welcome back!

I am enjoying what I am feeling right now (3 days later) which is a result of my session on Friday. I recognize the feeling because I have felt it before after leaving a session. It often is elusive to describe, but it feels like life force energy surging through me and it is uplifting, pulsing with an upward push (and warmth). I guess you could say the gateways are opening up a little for me. I find it to be absolutely miraculous, BECAUSE, so much has been pulling me down in the past year or so, making me depressed and easily tired.

So as a thank you I give you my little testimonial de jour. Please feel free to quote me or post it. It's so easy to look at this and say "that can't be!" BUT IT IS!

My Journey with NSA

When I first began my care with Dr. Stern this past February, I was a novice where Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) was concerned. Although I had been a chiropractic devotee since childhood, NSA was a healing system that I was completely unfamiliar with.

From the very first time that Dr. Stern began to guide me through an NSA session I understood the magnitude of this new healing system. Through gentle pressure applications along my spine I began to feel a vibratory sensation throughout my body. I then began to feel as though a wave of warm water was washing up and down my spine. This was coupled with flashes of color and the feeling of moving backwards and forwards. These occurrences have been a basic part of my experiences during my Network entrainments/adjustments.

There have been other experiences such as memories that have been brought to the forefront of my mind. There too, have been unique sounds and smells as well as the cascade of emotions as my body would gently slip into a wave dissipating the “charge” (emotion) associated with my remembrances of the past.

Soon after my entrainment, I would lie awake on the table memories adrift and the emotional charge that use to accompany them gone from my body. I felt free, light and unmistakably alive! Acute perceptions and higher states of awareness have occurred often as part of my “NSA Experience!”

Network Spinal Analysis has brought many positive changes into my life. The sciatica that I have endured for over fifteen years has virtually disappeared. The insomnia that has plagued me almost my entire life has dramatically lessened. I find that, in general, my thinking and actions have become more focused and finely turned. I definitely have a greater sense of well-being since NSA has become part of my life. I cannot pretend that I completely understand how it all works, but I only know that it does.

I find NSA to be a profoundly moving healing experience. I always felt a greater sense of peace and empowerment from the healing experience when it ended. I can only say that I can’t wait to see what the next eight months hold in store for me on my journey towards greater wellness…
